Hello Phil and welcome I moved your topic to the step by step section. For be your second model you are doing a goos job, you should try to add some more contrast in general skin, metals, tunic, etc needs more contrast, try to add shadow over the gold parts with washes of Raw Umber and Black...

easy my friend just add more darker mix for the shadows and more brighter mix for the lights, if you get too much contrast you could shut off the contrast with very diluid washes of the base color, thats helps

There is the Hoplite and his shield always in progress

There is this model almost finish, i must paint the iron of the sparrow :







This model was a great experience but i regret to be not enough better in painting .

Next time will be better
