Aide de Camp of Bernadotte

Here one of my projects I'm working on now for some time. It's a sculpture of an Aide de Camp of Bernadotte.
(Ernesto, I don't know if I have to place this WIP here or in sculptures. Otherwise you can replace it.)
I started sculpting over a year ago so I'm still a beginner but hopefully I'm becoming better in time.
I choose an existing model sculpted by Maurizio Bruno as a reference.

I started with a wireframe and a head of Pegaso's headset. For sculpting I used Magic Sculp. Well pictures say more than words so here are some improgress pics.





























This is were I'm at the moment. Still have to add a lot of details, re sculpt the lower part of the boots. And sculpting the hands and hat. Details are done with MS/Duro mixture. And some with milliput white.

Here an update from my sculpting efforts.
This figure is now near completion. I still have to sculpt some more details. Adjusting the right hand with glove and sculpt the sword. The figure is placed on a Pegaso groundwork.
I hope to finish it soon so I can continue with the painting.

I always start with a wireframe of the body and compare it with a printed reference if I have the distances correct.

Here a similar one I use:


When the sizes are correct, I fix the hips and shoulders/chest with a ball of Magic sculp.
Then I use small balls of Magic sculp to create basic legs and arms. Continuing adding small amounts of magic sculp for the basic muscle structure until the basic anatomy is correct and then I start sculpting the clothes. The smoothing is done with a brush dipped in water or alcohol.
When the putty is hard you can use a hobby knive/scalpel to carve and smooth with fine sandpaper.
