| Hi guys, this is the Amati 120mm conquistador.I painted him a few years ago now,but thought I would share him with you.I added a leather cross strap and buckle and leather straps to the helmet.I painted him in enamels and oils and printers inks.I think you can still buy the figure.Hope you like him.Kind regards to all John. | |

| Hi Ernesto, thank you for the compliments on my figure.I used printers inks for the metal parts and a semi gloss varnish with the ink.I added burnt and raw umber oils in various amounts to give the tarnished look to the metal. When all this was dry I used a very soft pencil lead and rubbed it on random areas,I the used a soft cotton bud to rub the lead in,careful not to rub to hard. All the high points of the metal and top edges to scratches I used pure silver ink.Hope this helps.I paint all my figures now in acrylics but still use printers inks for metal parts.I have several figures that I have used the same technique on, I have attached one other at this stage.I painted both these figures 10-12 years ago now.Kind regards John | |

| I Ernest, thanks for the compliments on the figures.I did not use a gloss varnish on the the carabineers cuiriass.I used a satin varnish with the gold ink which I mixed Alizarin crimson artists oils, which gave the gold ink a copper look which I needed for the officers cuiriass.I think the lighting in the photo makes it look more glossy than it actually does. Evert, glad you liked the photos.Kind regards John | |
